Promotion
Good news! Laura got a promotion! She was hired at the Cincinnati property as an assistant manager, with the plan that after being here a year, she'd be promoted to be a manager at one of their properties around the country. We've been hoping that she could just move up and be manager here in Cincinnati. Anyhoo, the manager pulled her into his office last week and told her that he received an offer to be a regional manager (He'd basically work with the managers of 8-10 properties around the country to oversee them, instead of being in charge of this one). So he told her that if he took it, she'd have 3 options.
1. She could stay in her position and finish out the year she was originally planning on, and then move up.
2. She could move up to be the manager at the Cincinnati property, earlier than anyone expected
3. She was also offered another position in the company travelling around the country doing training at the different properties... a position she really wanted, but required a move to Memphis, where the home office was located
After thinking about it, she decided to go with option 2. We really like the area... we're tired of moving around... and I have a good job that I can now keep, instead of having to find another one in Memphis. So, she got a promotion, and we're moving out! 10 years after we graduated, we're FINALLY moving out of student housing! We're big kids now =)
Now we need to find a house. I don't even know the first thing about buying a house... this should be fun!
